The Branch Christian School was God’s initiative.

God’s vision for a Christian school in Dewsbury was given to the Dewsbury Gospel Church in the early 1990’s. A sound basis was formed using Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) material (www.christian-education.org (UK) & www.aceministries.com (US)).

A Day in the Life of The Branch Christian School

The vision for the school was given to the Dewsbury Gospel Church. Education was a growing concern even back then in 1994 with parents from various churches sharing their concerns. Whilst sympathising with these concerned parents, God suddenly planted a seed in our hearts when He said, “Why don’t you do something about it!” The Word was direct and couldn’t be left though we must have echoed those words of Mary, “How can this be!” Leaning very much to the fact that the two main abilities God is looking for are availability and dependability, we set about praying into the area of education.

Within a short space of time a school using Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) material came across our path. At this point we had never heard of ACE. Contact was made with Arthur Roderick, the head of ACE Europe who kindly agreed to come and speak to the churches in the area. For us the vision was set; six members of out Church completed the training at Swindon during which God confirmed all that He had spoken to us about Christian Education.

By November 2nd 1994 the school opened its doors to 8 students. Four years ago the school moved from the Church premises to new purpose-built premises with many parents being involved in this project. At this stage the school received full registration from the Department of Education. Today the school has 26 students between the ages of 3 and 18.

What of those original 8? – Two are still at school and six have graduated attaining different levels of the National Christian Schools Certificate and are now in full employment. Others passing through the school have gone on to workplaces, further education in colleges or Universities.
